OBJECTIVE:
Start a carryout/delivery program for an established Tapas restaurant that didnt clog the phone lines.

Get people to use it.

ISSUES WE SAW:
This is a busy restaurant. Where they wanted to go into carryout and delivery, they did not want to disrupt the service of their existing business and all of the food would be coming out of the same kitchen.

Online order needed to get to the food expeditor in a timely fashion for the food to be ready for the customer.

GETTING DOWN TO BUSINESS:
Created and designed an online restaurant that allowed people to go to the restaurant website and order carryout.

The online restaurant clearly marked the different food selection categories which allowed the online customer at a glance to see the variety without being overwhelmed by the impact of over forty offerings. The customer could make their selections with little effort while being able to continue to browse and then check out.

Instructed the office manager on software and automatic printing plug-ins that allowed the emails to print instantly at a printer set up in the kitchen near the food expeditor allowing for no delays in the ordering or food preparation process.

Created a direct mail campaign to create awareness and fuel the online restaurant to 30,000 pre-qualified home owners and businesses within fifteen minutes of the restaurant with a gift certificate towards lunch or dinner to be redeemed online through unique customer codes. The online restaurant was programmed to identify, not only the customer codes, yet also distinguish lunch versus dinner times due to different gift certificate values as well as alerting the customer if the kitchen was closed, while allowing the purchase of gift certificates at any time.

RESULT:
Seamless carryout and delivery, without hold times, phone lines, payment processing, or additional personnel. Businesses routinely order online for lunches as well as residential customers for dinners.
